"Percy Jackson" is the working title, actually. Even with established titles, they do this to avoid connotations. For example "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" was given the working title "The Longest Night."
If it has a big enough draw at the box office, they'll likely make the sequel.

I don't think Percy Jackson is a series you can squeeze into one movie without thoroughly ruining it...To get the full experience, five movies really would be required.
