"I've been coming here five. And it's certainly a whole lot better then the hell my life was. My mother was a royal bitch," he said, scensing her bitterness. He flashed her a grin.

A small smile formed on her lips. "My dad never really tried to get to know me. He had his career and I had my life. They never mixed. And I guess it didn't help that we had nothing in common."
She looked around, enjoying the scenery. "It's really nice out here," she noted. "Peaceful."

"My mother just resented me. She never wanted kids," he said noncholently. "It's beautiful in the forest. A bit too quiet for me though. Feels a little too peaceful you know? I'm not used to it."

She smiled again. His words reminded her yet again of how different they were. "I like the peace. Sometimes I just need to...I don't know, stop and think about things. It's just my nature to overanalyze everything." She shrugged.

"I like people. It's something to do with my dad. I guess you like to think things out because of your mom. It's weird how they shape who we are isn't it?" Tim said, pushing a branch aside and gesturing for her to go before him.

She stepped forward, then looked back at him and said, "I suppose. Athena kids are thinkers. Aphrodite kids are self-obsessed. Ares kids love fighting. Hermes kids are nothing but trouble. Maybe they shape us a little too much, if you know what I mean. It's almost like there's a set mold for us to fit into."

"Yep, you could blame genetics, but it always seems more then that. I have not met one of my aunts or uncles who is not a conceited two-face, excep maybe Silena, on occasion. I have not met one Ares kid who doesn't want to beat the crap out of the nearset camper. And so on. And we're not exactly much different. We're like them," he said. He had a tendecy for over talking, saying what was on his mind. And it showed.

She smiled. Something about Tim was relaxing. Maybe it was the way he said whatever was on his mind, not bothering to think about it first. "I suppose one could blame it on the fact that you come here and are put in a cabin with people who are all exactly the same. You want to fit in, so you kind of adjust to fit the mold..." she trailed off, not sure if what she was saying made any sense at all.

"Well, I like to think of myself not quite as shallow as the children of my grandmother, but yeah, I see what you mean," he said. "Like perhaps if you put a son of Demeter in with the Ares children they'd either rip him to shreds, or he'd change his personality to fit in."

She smiled, happy that he agreed with her. "You don't seem too shallow," she said, more thinking aloud than talking to him. "But then again, I really don't know you that well..." she trailed off, again losing herself in thought.

"Well, I'm not a very deep person," he said with a shrug. "But you are, I can tell." He smiled, stepping ahead to leap over the stream and offering his hand to help her across.

She took his hand and stepped over the stream. "I'm not always sure if being deep is a good thing," she said. "Some days I wish I could just look at something and take it for what I see instead of analyzing everything. You know?" she said.

"Well, let me tell you, life is boring when a cat is a cat and a bookshelf is a bookshelf," Time joked. "But yeah, could get annoying." He squeezed her hand gently before letting it drop.

She blushed slightly and let her hand fall back to her side. "...I guess anything can be good or bad. Depends on how you look at it," she said.

"Like socks. Most people like sock, but they they just get sweaty and icky after a while," he said with a laugh. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Abrax start to glow. "Crap, there are monters near here."
