She did what he said, trying to work the best she could with a bow that didn't feel right due to its size.
"Like this?" she asked after changing her stance. He nodded and she let her arrow fly. It hit the tree, but didn't dig deep enough to stay in.
She sighed. "I forgot how hard archery is," she said, allowing some of her frustration to creep into her voice.

He smiled when the arrow struck it's mark. Closer. In her prime she'd be really good. Tim appaulded a bit, just for effect. "Good, I'd pul back harder next time, so it hits with more force and stays in."
He heard the frustration and almost grinned wider. It proved she was letting down defenses. Tim flicked some dark brown hair out of his eyes and nodded. "It's hard, but better then close range, I don't like seeing the light in someone's eyes go out," he said thoughtfully. "It's cruel."

Zenith shut her eyes for a second. She wasn't afraid to fight, but she definitely didn't live for it like the Ares kids did. The thought of killing people was something she didn't think she could do.
"And I find it strange that it's the half-bloods who have to fight the war for the gods," she said. "It's our parents' fight, yet they hide behind us."
She picked up another arrow and strung it on the bow.

"Yeah, well that's the life we live in. Live, fight, die. You learn to accept it don't you? I'm surprized I've even made it this far, but my dad's a minor god. I don't have any prophecies looming over my head," he said. The life of the demigod was like a Greek tragedy. "Half bloods have to fight for Kronos, too. I think you'd have to be pretty dim to think that that's any better, right?" he said, with a small smile. Tim watched as she aimed. "Abrax working for you?" he asked.

"Bigger than what I'm used to," she murmured, then returned to their previous subject and added. "Kronos is fighting with his army. That's more than the gods are doing."
She let the arrow fly, and this time it sank deep enough into the wood so it stayed in place.

"Yeah, but he's a twisted bastard. A deceiver of fools." Tim said, quietly. Perhaps her allegiance was with Kronos? But he had stood there an talked to her. He was a strong believer that the members of the Titan's army were stupid and soul sucked. Not people he could talk to and help with archery. He'd hate to think that he might be training another traitor.
He shook the thoughts away, letting his eyes linger on Zenith for a bit. The nodded in approval when the shot hit the tree and stayed in. That would kill whomever it was aimed at, and he prayed that it wasn't a camper someday. But he was being suspicious, that wasn't very kind.
"What do you think of Kronos?" he asked.

"Evil. Twisted. Horrible," she said flatly, naming off words that were commonly associated with Kronos. She knew that Kronos himself was horrible, but her mind wasn't made up about his cause. Maybe the gods needed to be taken down a few notches, and if Kronos was the one who could do it...
No. She wasn't going to start that debate with herself in her head again. Or at least not while she was practicing archery while talking to someone she barely knew.

"Good, I've heard nasty things about him," Tim said. He still wasn't quite convinced, but he let it slide. He let a lot of things slide. But her tone was slightly flat. Just as a reminder he said: "You know what would await us if they won? Torture, then Tartarus."
"But you've definitely inpproved your archery in those few minutes. I look forward to practicing someone my skill level," he winked. Maybe he was bragging... but just a bit.

"I should head back," Zenith said, handing him his bow. "Thanks for you help."
What he said had reminded her that it was vital that the gods win, or there wouldn't be much of a world left. Still, she had her doubts about them.
She suspected she always would.

"You're welcome," he said, slinging Abrax over his shoulder. "I should be getting back myself. Mind the company?" He didn't wait for her answaer before striding up beside her. His eyes slid sideways to her face.
The gray eyes looked peircing, even when not staring at anything in particular.
"We're two very different people, aren't we?" he asked, as if realizing it for the first time.

"Yeah," she murmurred, her mind on more than one thing. "This war is just screwing around with my mind," she admitted.

"It's screwed with everything. That's what the Titan's do, they twist things around. Or at least, that's what I've heard," Tim said. He shrugged slightly, regretting bringing the subject up.

She didn't say anything right away, thinking about what he had said. If the only reason that things were so twisted was because the titans had done it, was it really worth joining them? She had considered it, but could never find the courage to commit fully to one side.
"So..." she started, unable to think of anything to say.

"How long have you been at camp?" he asked casually. It was funny how people could be at camp for so long together and never notice each other, Or maybe she was new. Or maybe she had mentioned it and he hadn't been paying attention?

"I've come every summer since I was 13...so two," she said, doing the simple math in her head. "I found out I was a half-blood the same year I got sent here...Dad always knew there was something different about me, though. He was more than happy to send me here," she said, sounding slightly spiteful.
