How does a roleplay work?
Well, everyone makes a bunch of characters and they're either accepted or rejected. If they're rejected, you'll also be told why so then you can go fix whatever's wrong and apply again. After a nice collection of characters has been amassed, nobody will really do anything except wait for someone else to post a starter. Eventually, somebody will get sick of waiting and post something random in one of the boards. Everyone will eagerly read it, only to find out that the situation wouldn't work with their character.
Or they just don't understand it. (it was random, remember?)
Either way, the starter will sit there for a while until a mod comes along and posts a new one that makes more sense. Everyone will eagerly jump on it and there will most likely be an argument about who gets to post first. Once the order is worked out, various events will happen, most of them not pertaining to the topic and/or starter until the mod gets annoyed and locks the thread.
And that's how a roleplay works!

I'm kidding. (Okay, so maybe most of that is based off past RP experiences, but I'll make sure that doesn't happen here.)
Basically, you make a character. He or she will either be accepted or rejected. If the character is rejected, you'll be told why so you can go fix it. Once they're accepted, you can go look at the starters and decide if you want to post in any of them.
RPing is basically telling a story through different characters' points of view. It's a lot of fun.
Feel free to ask me if you don't understand anything!
