Name: Brandon Kephalos Valentine.
Age: 17, born on Friday the 13th.
Parents: The goddess Hera and mortal Robert Valentine.
Allegiance: Olympian.
Years at Camp Half-blood: Summer camper since he was ten years old. Was claimed in his third year when his existence proved hard to hide from the Lord of the Sky. Had a quest to save the bald eagle from extinction, which he succeeded in. Zeus had no choice but to let him live, albeit grudgingly.
Appearance: Black hair, pale skin, peacock-jade eyes. Intensely attractive. Was thought a son of Aphrodite for a while.
Personality: Loyal. Has a strong sense of justice. Impulsive. Stubborn. Poetic. Brooding but not to the point of being out of touch with reality, more an absent-minded professor type than an 'Edward.' Idealistic.
Likes: His girlfriend, C.C., daughter of Ares and Persephone (and that is a longer story). His mother. Love stories, writing, his mortal family.
Dislikes: Zeus. Ares. Betrayal. Peacocks.
Strengths: Ideals, family-orientation, unafraid to ask for help and will always repay a favor. Has a very firm sense of right and wrong and unshakable moral values.
Weaknesses: Love and loyalty. Was cursed at a young age to love a being far above him and be a victim of betrayal. Stating what he feels. Has a quick temper. His fatal flaw is love and trust.
Powers: Decent with swordplay, but prefers javelins and archery. His mother once out-shot Artemis. Has a minor amount of prescience and 'sixth sense', but no prophetic visions.
Weapons: A javelin that morphs into a whistle. Has a guardian bobcat that mind-speaks him and is related to the Namean lion.
History: His parents met in a cafe. Both had been abused by spouses (former in Robert's case), which ripened into an incredibly close friendship and then love. Hera became pregnant and sought the protection of the stream of her birth. She was punished by Zeus, but he was unaware of Bran's existence until three years ago. Bran had a fairly normal life as monsters were sent to determine who he was rather than attack him. His father sent him to Camp Half-Blood at ten, but refused to tell him who his mother was. Robert never dated or married since Hera, but Bran does have several mortal cousins raised as his siblings who are unaware of his half-blood status. One is Jennifer and in college, the other is thirteen and named Kally. They both have a fairly normal sibling relationship with Bran, though Kally like her uncle/foster father is clear-sighted and has to be protected from her brother/cousin's other life, of which his dad is fully aware. The upcoming Titan War prompted Bran's claiming. His mother visits him once a week and corresponds with his father. He has been on several scouting missions and accompanied Clarisse into the Labyrinth, saving Chris from death but unable to cure his friend's madness.
Roleplay Sample: Bran looked up from his book of Shakespearean plays and raised his eyebrows. "Just because my girlfriend's considering being immortal doesn't mean I want to live forever."
Silena blinked. "But she'll be left alone."
"We're crossing that bridge when we come to it," Bran said, snapping the book shut.
"Why would she consider that if she truly loved you?"
"She was born in the Underworld," said Bran with narrowed eyes. "Perhaps she doesn't want to go back."
Silena blinked. "Love will conquer her fear."
"That's sweet, Silena, but your mom did curse me."
(Probably didn't do it right, but ah well.)
