Well...has anyone read Stephanie Meyer's other book 'The Host?'
I started it but couldn't get into it...It's definitely a step up from Twilight, but that doesn't take much.

I think I can't get into it because I don't like any of the characters. Melanie reminds me of Bella, Wanderer just irritates me, Jared was okay, and I didn't get far enough to get an opinion of many of the other characters...

I don't know if I've said this, but I've had people say they hate me for not liking Twilight, then yelling at me for not being open-minded.
How hypocritical.

...-gigglesnort- I second that thought. Guess what? I met an intelligent Twilight fan! I said something about Bella being a Mary Sue and then he made some really good points against that. Not good enough to convert me, lol, but good enough that I was rendered temporarily speechless. (He couldn't deny the fact that Edward was a Gary Stu, though. )

I know an intelligent Twilight fan. They know it's all rubbish, and just can't help loving it. They understand that the characters are Mary Sue's and Gary Stu's but still likes it
What did your twilight fan say about Bella not being a Mary Sue?

Yeah, I'm curious. I don't mind intelligent Twilight fans. If I had only known intelligent Twilight fans, I rpobably would've still like the book. Of course, all the Blue Tridentities (or whatever) and parodies may have still swayed me.
